On Holiday: Day Four

On Day Four we checked out of our hotel at Cork and headed over to The Blarney Castle.

We all climbed all the way to the top of the castle ruins with Chloe on Chad's back.  I was pretty nervous about having her up there, but we did it!  And she can say she was there.

Our sweet ride, a Ford with left hand stick shift.   We are waiting for the Ferry to pick us up and take us over to The Hook Peninsula.









We are at The Hook where there is one of the oldest lighthouses.  The Hook is on the Southeastern part of Ireland directly on the Atlantic Ocean.

It was a big photo day, there are a 100 more photos that I didn't include, but you get the gist of it.  We all got back in the car and headed back to Dublin for the night.

On Holiday: Day Three

Here we go, day three, exploring Cork.

We came upon Chad's dream job, working for the Guiness Quality Team.

Our first stop, the English Market, where they had all kinds of fresh meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies, chocolates, coffee, sandwiches, and more.  It was so good.





If Dan owned a restaurant this is what it would be called.

The shopping wore everyone out, so we sat down for a drink and a nap.



Awake and ready for some taste testing. No, not really!  The funny thing was as we were taking this photo an Irish Social Worker was sitting next to us, laughing at us and joking about charging us.

On Holiday: Day Two

On Day Two of our trip, we flew from Birmingham to Dublin, picked up our rental van, and drove to Cork which was about a 4 hour drive. The daylight in England and Ireland was from about 4am to 11pm. It worked out really well to keep Chloe on Eastern Standard Time. They are 5 hours ahead so we just adjusted naps and night time accordingly and it worked out really well.

I felt comfortable flying on a plan with a clover on it's tail.

Chad couldn't contain his excitement about being in Ireland. He did his cheer for Ireland many times over.

We stopped at an Irish Pub on our way to Cork to get some dinner. 




This was my fish and chips meal with mushy peas.  It was huge and I didn't finish it and the waitress yelled at me for not finishing it!  Really, she wasn't kidding.  

We came across this sign outside the pub.  Chad got a real kick out of it.

We finally arrived in Cork for the evening.  This is Chloe's first hotel stay.
